Riverside College of Health Careers is partnering with Geneva College and Portage Learning to offer an all new prerequisite program that allows students to prepare for application to our Nursing Programs. Prospective students interested in acceptance into one of our degree and certificate programs, who have not  met all program application requirements, may first apply for Pre-Nursing or Pre-Allied Health courses to complete prerequisite program coursework.

Completion of Geneva College/Portage learning prerequisite or corequisite courses does not guarantee acceptance into an RCHC degree or certificate core program.

Applicants are not required to take pre-requisite or co-requisite courses from Geneva College/Portage Learning. Applicants may transfer courses from any institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (ED) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) to RCHC for consideration upon application for their degree or certificate program of choice.

Geneva College / Portage Learning Partnership

To provide ease of access to prerequisite and corequisite general education courses, RCHC has entered into an agreement with Geneva College / Portage Learning. Prospective students interested in acceptance into RCHC degree and certificate programs of study may first apply for our online Pre-Nursing or Pre-Allied Health courses to complete prerequisite program coursework.

The ATI – TEAS Exam is required with a minimum score of 50% to enroll in Pre-Nursing or Pre-Allied Health courses. Students scoring between 50-70% will be automatically enrolled in the ATI Launch: Academic Readiness program. If enrolled, satisfactory completion of the ATI Launch program is required as part of the application process for a core program (Professional Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, or Surgical Technology.) The ATI Launch program is optional for students with an initial TEAS score above 70%.

Students must declare their intended program of study upon initial course enrollment and apply for core program acceptance after completing specified pre-application courses and achieving a competitive score on the TEAS exam. Pre-Nursing and Pre-Allied Health students must complete all Geneva/Portage prerequisite general education courses within 1-year for associate degree programs or within 2-years for bachelor’s degree programs to maintain eligibility for core program application. See individual program pages for specified pre- and corequisite course requirements.
