Fostering an Inclusive Learning Environment

The diversity of our students, faculty and staff – in race, culture, beliefs, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, learning style and much more – makes us stronger. We look forward to welcoming you to our campus, no matter who you are, where you come from, who you love or what you believe.

System-wide Support for Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

Diversity, inclusion and belonging are foundational, mission-driven priorities at Riverside Health System. We strive for fairness and openness in our policies, institutional learning, care provision, hiring and all we do. We believe in:

  • Trust earned through safety, quality of care and service: promote cultural competence with our students, faculty, and staff to foster an environment where all are welcomed, valued and supported to meet their full potential
  • Deep community involvement: engage with diverse and underserved communities, and provide resources to improve access to health careers education
  • Teamwork, Diversity and Respect: demonstrate kindness and respect for every individual’s unique background and perspective

RCHC participates within the Riverside Health System Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. The diversity committee structure allows RCHC team members the opportunity to engage in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Riverside’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategy includes three long term objectives:

  • We will build a diverse talent pipeline with advancement opportunity for all.
  • We will create and foster an inclusive culture that supports the diversity of our workforce, patients and residents.
  • We will reinforce our commitment to health equity and community outreach.

Sharing Your Feedback to Improve DEI

At Riverside, our goal is to live the Riverside Care Difference every day. This means caring for others as we would care for those we love. As we always strive for continuous improvement, we welcome your thoughts and feedback, as well as any formal requests for action.

Riverside Leadership is Here to Listen

A student advisory board meets with senior college administrators every semester to voice concerns, thoughts, opinions and feedback. Direct access to administration can be rare at many larger organizations, but this is an essential opportunity at Riverside. Students are offered a meaningful seat at the table to make decisions and advocate for real change within the institution.

We Encourage Transparency

If you face discrimination, bullying, harassment, sexual assault, violence or other conduct violations on campus, please report them. RCHC has a fully trained Title IX team that is prepared and ready to help.

Students can report issues anonymously through our learning management system, directly to faculty, campus security or any of the Title IX coordinators. Riverside College of Health Careers takes these situations seriously and will confidentially work with you to resolve any issues. Our mission is to always ensure an open, safe and inclusive environment for you and all other students at Riverside College of Health Careers.
