Student Life

What does it look like to be a student at Riverside College of Health Careers?

Riverside College of Health Careers welcomes all students – from all walks of life. Some of our students are recent high school graduates, while others are advancing or changing their careers as they juggle family, full-time work and school. We have decades of experience helping students navigate our educational model to meet individual needs and unique situations for every student.

Diversity and Inclusion

We help manage the school/life balance with our students.

Just as we help our employees manage life for an improved work/life balance, Riverside helps our students manage life outside of school as they go through our educational training. For everything from reduced daycare fees at Riverside's daycare facilities to free gym memberships, medical and retail discounts, onsite printing services and extensive academic resources – we’re here to help make the school/life balance more manageable for our students to ensure their success.

Day-to-day as a Riverside student.

In addition to the support of our College of Health Careers team, students at Riverside experience a strong student bond within their program of choice because students have the same classes with the same students as they progress through the program curriculum.

Classes and labs prepare our students for a clinical settings from the very beginning. A typical day includes a balance of classroom and lab time, allowing students to learn in an environment that simulates real-world medical experience with every class. Classes are scheduled three to five days a week with either daily classes from 8 am until 3 pm or evening classes from 5 pm until 10 pm. and every other weekend. Clinical shifts will vary.

Through decades of teaching students at Riverside College of Health Careers, we’ve adapted and advanced our learning environment to include vital learning opportunities to help students thrive.

In keeping with our clinical setting, we also have a variety of student lounge spaces like the Recovery Room, a casual area aptly named by our students, where you can socialize, relax and enjoy down time. The Recovery Room has comfortable seating, vending machines, microwaves and an ever-ready coffee maker for a caffeine boost. We also provide the Alumni room and Treehouse Café, other study lounge spaces located in the library.
